I love traditions!

So, Pumpkin Carving has been a tradition in my family since before I could even remember! So, last year I introduced Peyton to this tradition! And he absolutely loved it! He loved helping me clean out the slimy stuff inside the pumpkin, but he only helped me for a little while. Jason was totally disgusted by it sooooo he never really helped either (my dad used to be the one that cleaned out our pumpkin for us, guess it's not for all guys). And last years pumpkin was Smokey...the University of Tennessee's mascot, and I have to admit I did carve last years pumpkin although it was awesome! Here is a pic of it!

But, this year was a whole different story.....First of all I couldn't believe I waited so long to carve our pumpkin, we did it last night after church. I really wanted to take Peyton to a pumpkin patch to find a pumpkin because there are a couple around where we live, but that never happened! So, I went to Wal-Mart yesterday after work and got a $2 Pumpkin!!! Not bad :0) and then I had found a Mickey Mouse stencil online...I did find a Lightning McQueen one, but was kind of nervous about doing the stencil, it was very detailed! and with it being my first ever, I stuck w/the Mickey Mouse, or I had a Goofy, but Peyton decided on Mickey! We had fun digging out all the gooey, slimy stuff, and this year, Peyton stayed with me and helped me! I was thrilled to death!!! I had a helper this year, but he was funny b/c he wouldn't dig as much as I did, and he'd make me put what I dug out onto his scoop thing....so he could put it in the bowl! LOL My parents were so nice and gave us their pumpkin carving utensils, it included a couple of scoops to get the "gunk" out, and included little knives, and little picks to use with stencil, I honestly don't remember my parents have those kind of utensils when we were kids :0)! So after everything was cleaned out I started on punching holes to make a Mickey, whew, that wore me out, I was already exhausted from the entire day, plus church, plus cleaning out the pumpkin, not the stenciling....but Peyton stayed by my side, even though he talked my ear off LOL! Well, I finally got done, and the finished product is alright, not the best of the best, but considering how exhausted I was, I think it'll work...I'm posting some cute pics :0)!

Care Packages are awesome!

Yes! Care Packages are amazing, even though I'm 29 and NOT in college!!! :0) I especially loved them in college when I was many hours from my parents and I would randomly get a care package with just little stuff to show they love and care about me, and miss me....I don't get those as much as did from 1997 to 2000 lol
BUT now it's Peyton's turn, I guess because he is the only grandson or even grandchild!!! And my family is all the way in Texas and Philly! So, Peyton received 2 really great books, one on Halloween, called My Happy Pumpkin
I had no idea that it was a Christian book until I started reading it, and I was thankful to read to my son a positive and most importantly a Christian version of Halloween, when there seems to be more and more evil things out in the stores, which is so very depressing!!!  So we are very thankful for this new addition to our book collection :0)!
And one on Thanksgiving, called My Thanksgiving Prayer...
he received this care package from Grammy and Pops...and he wants me to read his card from them over and over again, it's so sweet!

Then, the other day my sister, who is pregnant, said I just got Turkey Sugar Cookies from Grandmother!!! And I was like how did you get those??? She said just ask her :0) Soooo I did, and then my care package came!!!! I WAS SO EXCITED! Like a Freshman in COLLEGE lol, but we're all enjoying grandmother's homemade sugar cookies, and Peyton had his first one and loves them too :0)

We are thankful for our family that still love and care about us many hundreds of miles away......

Vacation 08

We went to Orlando a few weeks ago for our Family Vacation, we went with Jason's parents, and his Aunt Cheryl and Uncle John, their son Kris, and his Aunt Debbie and Uncle Steve, and his brother Justin, and Justin's girlfriend-Bethany met us up there....We had a blast!

We went to Sea World on Monday and Disney-Magic Kingdom on Thursday....Peyton said he rode all the "Adult Rides". We went to Sea World last year, so Peyton was excited about being there, but not as excited as Disney! It was just exciting seeing him enjoy everything about it! He even wanted to meet some of the Princesses, so we sat in line and waited to see them, and I have never seen him be so "charming" and just so giddy about being around the girls, it was cute! He met Princess Auro, Cinderalla and Belle. On the days we weren't at a park we either went shopping or sight seeing....or swimming....

Here are my favorite pics from our vacation....
And they are out of order, but you get the jist LOL!

The Answer to the mystery of what we're having....

We are having another BOY!!!! :0)

We found out yesterday at my 19 1/2 week appointment, and we were very excited and very THANKFUL that he is very healthy!!! Praise the Lord!!!! But, truth be told, I kind of wanted a little girl...one of each....but God has other plans that I can't argue with ;0)! And then there is Peyton, since DAY ONE he has been begging for a little brother, and had talked about the baby as a "he"....and even said when we went to a furniture store, that his baby brother and he can get bunkbeds!!!! LOL Too cute! So the faith of a child.....;0)Here is a Profile Picture
Here is the front of his face...
His foot...
And his "Boy Parts" lol!

Everything is going very smoothly with the pregnancy, I can already feel him move and its such an amazing feeling, I love it!!!!

15 Weeks and counting.....

Today I have hit the 15th week of Pregnancy.....I seriously cannot believe I'm already at this mark, it has gone by fast because I found out so early that I was pregnant I knew it would be a LONG pregnancy, and has somewhat been long, but sometimes I think where has the time gone?

But, I am starting to feel little butterfly movements in my stomach, so I know he/she is in there ;0) it's a great feeling!

Some people are asking when will I find out what I'm having....well, my next appointment is September 23rd at 1 p.m., and I'll be 2 days shy of 17 weeks, but she said at one of my earlier appointments that she likes to check to see what it is between 18-20 weeks.....So we shall see....And what do I want? I want a Healthy Baby!!!! But, I can honestly say I'd LOVE for it to be a GIRL!!! For so many reasons, the obvious reason is because I have my Boy and now I'd love to have my Girl too, a good balance between the two....What does Peyton want? a Boy! I think that's all he knows, as in, boy stuff, he wants someone to play with him....I remind him a lot that, I used to play with little boy toys with my Big Brother, and I'm a little sister, and he'd be the Big Brother, like Uncle Shane is :0) preparing him for either way hehe! And Jason, he hasn't really said...but I know he'd secretly love to have a little girl too....one of each...;0) But with Jason's genes which go something like this....

Jason has just one brother, no other siblings....
Jason's mom, is the only girl w/3 other brothers....
Jason's dad is one of 4 brothers.....
so, the odds are against us, but Jason does have quite a few girl cousins ;0)

But I basically just want a Healthy Baby......that's all I pray for.....

Peyton has been kissing my belly it is so sweet, since I'm already showing, crazy how that happens w/the 2nd one! I wasn't wearing maternity clothes until almost 6 months last time.....oh well, it's part of it ;0) and maternity clothes are sooooo COMFY!!!! :0)

Peyton has been doing GREAT in preschool.....he is learning shapes again, which he already knew them, and he is cutting a lot lately, I've noticed, it is so sweet to see the little jagged edges and to know that my child, did that!!! He goes 3 days a week, and 1/2 a day because he wasn't used to "school" or structure since he has always been with a sitter with maybe one other kid and him....so we're getting him in slowly.....

Jason is doing great! He is in Seminary again this semester and enjoying it....Ministry is going great! we're averaging around 50-ish Youth, which is pretty good considering there are churches on every corner in Cleveland....Jason is also teaching College & Career Sunday School as well, just another thing to fill his plate....but he is more than willing to do it, I'm so proud of him!!!!! For fun, Jason is playing fall Softball too, for our church league, as well as the University here in town because he goes to seminary.....I dare not go to that game though, I'd be the old woman there....being all pregnant...and w/a 4 year old LOL.....

I will post pictures soon.....

The day I'll never forget....

Yesterday was a big day from the morning to 11.59 p.m......

Yesterday I made my appointment for my next maternity doctor's visit, it was suppose to be on Friday, but back in Texas they kept saying my grandmother could pass at any moment...so I moved it...It was a great visit....my doctor says everything looks great, my blood pressure, the urine sample (lol yes she even said that lol), everything....and then she said are ready to hear your baby's heartbeat?! I was like yes most definitely!!! So she found the heartbeat, and she sounds it sounds great it is at 160 bpm....;0) and it sounds strong...that was great to hear...but hear the baby's heartbeat was the best!! So reassuring that everything is going great....New life is amazing, what a blessing God has given to us!!!!! Very very excited!!!

Then, at midnight, I was sound asleep and my phone started vibrating....it was my mom, my dad's mom, my Nanie, had just passed away....the EXACT same day I heard my baby's heartbeat, was the day my Nanie went onto to Heaven...it's so surreal....when my Papa passed away, her husband, I was pregnant with Peyton....and here I am pregnant again....just unreal....I see it so many times, where new life comes, and older life goes onto heaven, God works things in Mysterious Ways....amazing....

So, I'll be headed to Van Alstyne in the next day or two....keep my entire family in your prayers...thanks so much!!!

Huge Step for the Sharpe Family....

Yesterday was a milestone for our family, especially for our little guy....Peyton started Preschool yesterday at Wesley United Methodist Church....Poor guy, had a long 17 hour drive with us on Saturday, then we had church on Sunday, and then he had to start his first day of Preschool, with a room of complete strangers....I am sooooo PROUD of him!!! He would tell me bits of pieces of his day....this is some of the things he said he did...

-The teacher read them 3 stories on the carpet.
-He cooked at the kitchen area, he cooked in the microwave, he made....pizza & macaroni and cheese!
-He played outside....I asked him if he played in the playhouse, and he said no, that the girls were in there, and when the boys tried to go in there they would all say "AHHHHHH"...he then asked me why the girls did that LOLOLOL! I love it!
-He had a snack...they had cheese-its and juice and donuts (then he said not really! Lol!)
-His Nana asked him if there were little boys to play with he said and GIRLS lol!!!

So Peyton is definitely growing up, our lil guy that 4 years ago, was such a tiny little baby, is now going to School! I'm so Proud of him, have I said that already ;0)

Last week we went to San Antonio for the General Assembly....we met my parents in Tyler, TX so they could pick up Peyton for the week, and take him back to Van Alstyne to visit....Jason and I stayed in a really nice hotel the Marriott RiverCenter
We took 5 of our teenagers to compete in 6 different categories for Teen Talent....The included:
-Monologue
-Human Video
-Solo Mime
-Bible Teaching
-Piano
-Website Design
And out of the 6 we came back with 3 trophies....we had 2 National Champions in Piano and Website Design, and runner-up in Monologue! And out of the 7 trophies Tennessee received for the entire Teen Talent....3 of them were from our church! We were very proud of them.....

But, in the middle of the week, on Tuesday afternoon, my brother called me...my grandmother, my Nanie had been in a tragic accident, she had a massive heart attack while driving, and ran into a house....a man tried to do cpr on her immediately and the Emt's had to recitate her 3 times....she is currently in the hospital, in ICU, on life support and is non-responsive, please pray for her...her name is Elaine Pettit....an amazing lady!!! here is a picture of her....

We have had a loaded week.....Enjoy the slideshow of Peyton's first day and some other pictures...
